What began as a passion for shared experiences in the cinema has transformed into a passion for shared experiences on the web.

As a result my design work is informed by an appreciation for storytelling, visionary direction and emotion. I consider myself an “accidental designer”, having settled into the field after exploring multiple creative paths.

I graduated with a B.A in Film Production from the University of Cape Town. After working on film sets for a year I travelled to Tokyo where I lived for 13 months and taught English. I returned home to study Computer Science at my alma mata, but didn’t make it past the first month of studies. My heart just wasn’t in it.

With my savings from Japan depleting I took a paid design internship at a travel company where I taught myself graphic design with the help of a few patient colleagues. Along the way I discovered motion design and animation.

A year later I got a job at a small design studio where I designed websites in Wordpress and created frame-by-frame animated short films for The School of Life.

In 2018 I became a freelancer and worked on animated shorts and illustrations. I also art-directed the animated sequences for a feature-length documentary.

In 2020 I was accepted to do my masters in animation at Gobelins in Paris - the top ranked animation school in the world. Unfortunately after failing to secure funding I had to decline the invitation and shifted my focus back to my freelance work.

In 2021 I became lead designer for an offshoot of Webrepublic, a leading Swiss marketing agency. As the first remote Cape Town employee I spent the next two and a half years assembling the Cape Town creative team, developing the brand, establishing design systems and creating work for clients including FIFA, Hyundai and Adidas.

Having explored a variety of creative paths over the last nine years I am now focusing exclusively on digital experience design with the intention of developing websites, apps and design systems that incorporate captivating visuals with elegant user-journeys.

I love working with others and believe strongly in the power of collaboration, open communication and vision. Like a camera that shifts focus, I want to use design to bring into focus the things that truly matter.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

Let’s connect.

I design digital experiences in the form of digital products, websites and applications. I work with the intention of creating intuitive user-centric journeys that seamlessly demonstrate value and in the process inspire engagement.

While experience design is my central focus I am capable of generating and directing the production of creative material to support whatever I'm working on.

I lead teams by engaging in thorough research, establishing creative direction, facilitating collaboration, and helping others find solutions to challenging problems.

I also create design systems to enable people to work more efficiently, collaboratively and creatively.

I design goal-driven digital experiences with the intention of creating intuitive user-centric journeys that seamlessly demonstrate value and in the process inspire engagement.
